    Dehydration affects all skin types and to restore it and at the same time re-establish its protective function, the water balance must be restored.<\/p>\n

    Whatever your skin type, certain factors can lead to or encourage excessive sensitivity.<\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    The epidermis is the surface layer of the skin that interacts between the very moist inner environment and the much drier outside air; it contains the cells that produce keratin, a protein that waterproofs and strengthens the skin. The epidermis protects the deeper layers of the skin by becoming a barrier against toxins, bacteria and fluid loss.<\/p>\n

    Under ideal conditions the water in the epidermis should be 10-20% and its outermost layer, the stratum corneum, is likened to a brick wall, whose role is to prevent water evaporation.<\/p>\n

    DEHYDRATED SKIN<\/p>\n

    External aggressions can dehydrate the skin. It is therefore necessary to protect it from physical aggressions such as temperature variations or the presence of wind, or chemical aggressions such as surfactants or irritants.
